Introduction
According to an article by Sangeeth Varghese on Forbes.com, if you hold your people to high expectations, they often rise to meet those expectations. He believes there are four key elements to ensure success. The first is to declare your high expectations, the second is to communicate your expectations clearly, the third is to make sure those expectations fit the recipients and lastly communicate your expectations at every level. Sometimes seemingly impossible goals are the most likely to be met. Most people enjoy a challenge so if your goals are clearly articulated, people will focus all their effort on attaining them. A leader should only establish expectations that have a real chance of succeeding--even if they do sound impossible at first. When you expect something truly out of the ordinary, most people will rise to the occasion. How to you get the best out of people? As always, if there is something you want to share, drop me a line. I look forward to hearing from you. Until next month, thanks for reading!

The Houston Chronicle ran a story on AAF Houston's campaign for the Friends of BARC last week. The story featured a couple of the ads and a billboard along with covering several important points such being a responsible pet owner by spaying and neutering your furry friend. It was a great opportunity for our initiative.
This Wednesday, August 18, 2010 AAF-Houston will co-sponsor a joint luncheon with the Media Alliance of Houston (formerly AWRT Houston) where Patrick Coyne will discuss the history and philosophy of Communication Arts magazine.
