The American Advertising Federation announced that AAF-Houston past president, Bill Courtney, had been elected to the national AAF Board of Directors representing Houston and Division 2 clubs across the country. The announcement was made at the AAF National Conference 2008 in Atlanta.

The School of Communication at the University of Houston will be named to honor the late Jack Valenti, adviser to President Lyndon Johnson and head of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for nearly four decades. Valenti, who died last year at the age of 85, was born and raised in Houston and was a graduate of the University of Houston (1946).

The board of directors of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) today elected James Edmund Datri as the federation's next president and CEO. Datri will assume leadership of the AAF on November 1, 2008, following a transition period that will begin in September. Datri's election concludes a search and selection process that commenced in September 2007 upon the announcement of the retirement of current President & CEO Wallace Snyder.

2007 AAF Houston President's Council

On Saturday, February 9, 2008, Only in Houston will present their second annual Only in Houston Award to the Art Guys, who have brought untold favorable publicity, attention and honor to the City of Houston through their creative blend of performance, conceptual and visual art. The award ceremony, to be held at the main ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel Downtown, will be held in conjunction with the Advertising Federation of Houston 46th Annual ADDY Awards gala Saturday, February 9th, 2008.
