How the competition works:
Although it would be awesome, you don’t bring your friends with you to work, so don’t strategize over entering the competition with them either. When you arrive, you’ll be placed in a team with 10-12 other students from various universities.
Our corporate sponsor will provide your assignment, and we’ll assign your team a real office—it could be an advertising agency, design firm or in-house corporate marketing department—to work in. For the next eight—count ‘em EIGHT—h ours, all you have to do is wrap-up a marketing plan, media plan, creative solution, and record a video of your presentation in time for judging later that evening.
Easy, huh?
Oh, and your host office isn’t ignoring you, they just aren’t allowed to help. We’ll announce the finalists and winner on Saturday.

Seminars
Sometimes you need more than a Wikipedia explanation to really understand something. Lucky for you, the industry experts will be here Saturday presenting a crash course on agency life. They’ll discuss the job responsibilities and the skill sets required to succeed at various positions within their organization, and answer any questions you may have.
Portfolio & Resume Review
Your book really is a big deal. Sometimes, the hardest part is knowing what to put in it and mom isn’t always the best critic. Bring your portfolio and/or resume to the conference, network with Houston’s advertising community, and let the experts help you polish it up.
Professors Tour & Dinner
While students are wringing their brains on Friday, professors are invited to a four-agency/media facility tour. They’ll see the latest tools being used in today’s advertising and marketing community, participate in luncheon roundtable hosted by Univision, and come back for dinner later than evening. If you’re nice, maybe your professor will share what they learn with you. Or, THEY may take a job and not come back. Heh … you wish.
